Market Square "De-Coupled"
SOCC attended a meeting with the development managers at Rivington Hark where it was announced that: "Following the initial public engagement at the end of 2025, proposals for Market Square will now be progressed as a seperate phase, allowing the rdevelopment of Ely Court and Palm Court to move forwards".
Good news!
At this early stage, we commend both TWBC and Rivington Hark for listening to the concerns of the community.
We're pleased both TWBC and Rivington Hark listened to the concerns of the community but THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER!
Rivington Hark has requested that SOCC engage with users of the Camden Centre to understand how they plan to use the community centre in the future and provide details of the size and types of space that we need.
This will help them assess whether or not to proceed with a plan for residential developments on Market Square and if so, where the Camden Centre's and its services will be relocated.
